Know who is the owner of a Website

You can do this by going to any of the WHOIS sites.
1) One such site is at http://www.dns411.com
2) When you type the domain name of the site in the box provided, that is, without the http://www. part, you will be able to get some useful information about the site - such as, the name of the owner, his registered address, his email address and even his telephone number.
3) Such information is indispensable when you are going to order something online from a little-heard-of site and to combat fraud or other internet abuse (racism, paedophilia, etc.)
4) To give you an idea of what you will get, go to the above-mentioned site and type bbc.com i.e. the domain name of the BBC, in the search box at the top of the page.
